Our neighborhood, Federal Hill, does a huge kids egg hunt every year. So as with the Halloween Party, I volunteered to be on the planning committee. Since I survived as the games chair for Halloween, they asked me to be the games chair again. I talked my friend and neighbor into doing it with me, with was not only helpful but also fun! I had fun getting to know the women on the committee and hope to get involved a bit more as time goes on. Everything we do in my work in developing countries is always trying to get people to get more involved in community development, and yet it can be so hard to get people to volunteer for simple neighborhood things. But when you meet a well organized, fun group of women running things in the neighborhood, it's sort of inspiring.
My mom bought Griffin an Easter egg basket which came in the mail a couple weeks before the egg hunt. So every day we would practice hunting eggs- I would make Griffin wait in the bathroom for a minute while I hid the eggs in the living room, and then he went around and looked for them and put them in the basket. It was hilarious to watch his little brain figure out the idea of looking for, and finding the eggs! The day of the real egg hunt my parents were in town, as it was Easter weekend and also Steve's birthday. I had to go early to help set up, and then my folks brought Griffin over. Before 10am all the kids and parents (and there were several hundred kids!) have to wait outside the black iron gate which surrounds the kids playground and park area. All the plastic Easter eggs were spread all over the kids park area inside the fence. And then at 10am, the egg hunt chair gave the word to open the gates, so all the kids could pour in and start the hunt! Luckily they organized the kids by age group, so no trampling occurred. After the hunt there were prizes and games and food, and even the Easter Bunny made an appearance! Griffin was very into the Easter Bunny, but wouldn't go close enough to stand by her or touch her. It was a cute event and everyone had a great time!

| Oh! A golden egg!! (there was a prize for a golden egg!) |

| We can wave to the Easter Bunny, but that's about close enough. |
