Baby Update! 36 weeks now!

Since we've been back in the US, we've been seeing a midwife named Joanne, who's affiliated with Doylestown Hospital in Bucks County, PA, where I'll deliver. I chose a midwife practice because of it's more holistic philosophy to childbirth, and a general approach of more continued care and support during labor. It's supposed to be a lot more attentive to the patient than today's in-and-out style of a regular obstetrician. I can't say we did that much research, but this practice was recommended to us and from the first time we met Joanne, we liked her. Plus the OB doctor who backs her up has recently delivered babies of two of my friends and is known to be excellent.

Here's a picture of the midwife practice.

Me in the purple Barney maternity dress. 35 weeks and 4 days!

So far, everything's super healthy with the baby, and I'm feeling great. When we first got back, the midwife wasn't fully satisfied with the reports from my doctor in Thailand, so she ordered a full ultrasound just to be sure. Everything looked normal, except that the baby was measuring pretty big! The next week when we went in she said the same thing, but luckily this week she said things had evened out a bit, and it was probably just a growth spurt. Plus, as she reminded me, there's always a margin of error in these measurements.... But just to be sure, they're sending me for another ultrasound a week from tomorrow (June 4th) to check for size. But this baby's a spitfire I think, moving around all the time!!
