This is the last week I'm working on this consultancy and I needed to be in Atlanta most of the week. So Steve decided to come along with Griffin, and get out of the cold for a bit, We were lucky to get upgraded to a little suite so it's working out perfectly. Well, now anyway. The trip was a bit rough- we flew in the afternoon but I expected Griffin to sleep on the way to the airport and he didn't, so by the time we got in our seats, he was excited and curious for about 20 minutes, then turned monster child for another 30 mins or so. Luckily after that he crashed hard and slept the rest of the flight. But then when we got off, we learned that his bag- the one I had packed all his clothes and stuff in- didn't make it to Atlanta and was instead en route to Alaska, due to a clerical error! Thankfully I had several diapers and a change of clothes for him in the diaper bag, so when we got to the hotel I let him just crawl around in his onesie to try to keep today's outfit a little clean....because he had to sleep in it. Poor guy! Not that he probably notices though. Steve took a long walk to find a grocery store to get diapers, and we were fine. Luckily Delta found our bag and it's on our way back to us- hopefully by tomorrow.
In other news....we....have....forward....motion! After a couple of weeks of trying hard, scooting backwards, and a lot of hands and knees rocking, Griffin's finally moving forward! We got to the hotel after traveling a good portion of the day (a lot of time waiting at the airport dealing with the bag thing) and I set him down on the floor and poof! forward crawling! What really cracks me up is how proud he is of himself- you can clearly tell he knows he's accomplished something new- huge grin, excited laughter, and this look of self-satisfaction. I tried to get two little video clips of it, which are below.
Not sure how much of Atlanta I'll be seeing as I have a lot of work to do here, but Steve is looking forward to a lot of long walks with Griffin in the stroller, exploring the city, enjoying the warm, fresh air- finally!
