2 months old! 12lbs, 23 inches

The big excitement this week was Griffin's 2 month baby well visit to the pediatrician. He's growing like crazy! He's now 12 lbs, and 23 inches long! We happily reported that Griffin is sleeping well through the night, and after we told Dr. E how much he's sleeping through the night, she told us to count our blessings. Although he still has a very late bedtime, often midnight or so before he'll go down for the night, he usually sleeps until anywhere between 7am and sometimes even as late as 9am! After a good feed at that time, he'll go back down to sleep, usually until noon. So we ARE lucky. In the afternoon's he often does tummy time or goes on errands with us, and will cat nap here and there, but usually no more than 2 hours, sometimes much less. Evening fussy time is so much better than in previous weeks, but some days can still be pretty fierce. But those cutie pie smiles that we now get from time to time, and the adorable baby talk, makes up for it for sure! This picture above is him wearing his super cool Paris-Dakar Rally pajamas- aren't they fantastic! They have a map of them of the route from Paris to Dakar, and even has Bamako, Mali on the map- where we used to live! What else can we say about baby Griffin so far? He loves his binky now, which so far is a great thing, because he's showing signs of comforting himself a little and putting himself to sleep while sucking on it. Normally he does great in the car, especially in the rougher ride of the Land Rover, and the few times that he's been unhappy in slow traffic or my mom's smoother Maxima, we've learned that bad hip-hop music, turned up really loud, quiets him down! We think it's the rumble of the bass that's doing it. And he already has what we think will be his favorite toy/blanket- a little blue stuffed dog with a small blanket attached that our friend Becky sent him - he can hold it now and even reaches for it on his own! We named him "Rover."(See Rover's photo debut above with Griffin in the bassinet, and in the bottom photo, of Griffin sleeping in the stroller) Two weekends ago we went on a day trip to Maryland to a crab feast- note his cutie crab onesie, especially for the occaison. And Steve ran a half-marathon (13.1 miles of trail running!) with our friend Melissa, so here's a picture of his first time cheering on his daddy! And lastly, here's a video of Griffin I tried to take with my I-Phone of him "talking," though I'm not sure it came out very well. Note, if you aren't not family, you will probably find this super boring!
