Griffin turned 4 months old on Sunday! Yesterday we had our 4 month check-up at the pediatrician. I'm proud to say that I didn't cry this time when he got his shots! He cried for a short minute, really hard (I'm talking super red face) and then stopped almost as quick as he started. Way to go! He now weighs 15.6lbs, which is the 60th percentile for weight, and 26 1/4 inches long, which is the 98th percentile for height! Tall baby! No wonder he's wearing 6 month old sized clothes already! I'm also happy to say that his bedtime has finally moved up earlier- 8pm is the magic number so far. Which cracks me up because over Labor Day weekend when we went to visit our friends Amy and Steve and their 3 kids, I was asking Amy her thoughts on sleep schedules and sleep training. "For the love of God," she said, "you guys and your books and theories on sleep training. It's not that complicated! Every kid in America goes to bed at 8pm, so just put the kid to bed at 8pm!" She must be on to something, because all 3 of her kids are great sleepers, and right about now 8pm is working perfectly for us as well. Thanks Amy! (Now I just need your secret to daytime naps...)
And now for the drumroll....another big milestone these last few days? Griffin is rolling over! He has been rolling from his tummy to his back for a while now, but he doesn't often do it. But now he's learned to roll from his back to front, and does it all the time all of the sudden. And once I saw him roll to his tummy and then back over again! He loves to kick his feet around, and at night or during naps when he's a a little bit awake, I can hear him on the monitor going "thump thump thump" of his feet kicking around on the crib.
Here are a cute photos taken on his 4 month birthday over the weekend. This was actually the first time he's ever sat in the bumbo chair for any period of time and he's clearly very seriously interested in all the things he can see from that height!
