This week marks one year that we've been in Baltimore! Just a year ago we moved in our short-term housing on William Street, and our neighbors said, "oh, come out your front door tomorrow for the kids 4th of July parade!" And we did! And what fun it was!! Again this year we decorated the tricycle with streamers and curling ribbon, red-white-and-blue bows, donned our red-white-and-blue clothes and beads (and american flag bandanas for the dogs), and headed out to join all the neighborhood families, strollers, bikes, wagons and dogs to participate in the parade! We had a nice time with our friends walking several blocks with such a large group of kids and parents, a real city firetruck, several convertible sportscars with important people, plus a marching band of revolutionary-war dressed minutemen, and all the rest, then we all hung out on the block for some games and food, a guy making balloon animals, and lots of other exciting things! Later today we'll head to our neighbors' house for a barbeque, while the kids play with the sand/water table and we all try to keep cool. It's in the high 90degsF already, and has been all week! Most days have been rounding out at 100F and we're expecting another round of strong thunderstorms sometime soon, maybe late tonight.
And just for fun, here are a couple pictures of my little baby boy LAST YEAR at the same parade!!! He was just barely 1 years old then!
