Rafting on the Green River

On Wednesday, we had a lazy morning and then headed out to Saluda, NC, which is just outside of Asheville, to Green River Adventures company on the Green River. They had family- friendly white water rafting, and their company was recommended by friends in Baltimore.  We signed up for Class I and II family rafting trip, where you essentially kayak the rapids in blow up "duckie" kayaks. Steve and Griffin went in a double together, and I went in a single myself.  It was a gorgeous afternoon, including a rope swing stop towards the end, and well worth it.  We all had a great time. Note that there aren't any actual photos on the water....since we had to leave our phones and everything else back at the car. The guide had a good waterproof camera though, and got some great shots! I'll add them in here when I get a chance to pull them off the flash drive.

After we finished, we relaxed with a beer and Doritos (can you tell we're on vacation?), changed into dry clothes and picked up our flash drive of photos that the guide took (holiday card, anyone?). Then we headed to downtown Asheville for dinner.  We were all so exhausted that we stopped at a quick, local taco place called White Duck Tacos in the Riverside Arts District of Asheville, and as Griffin practically fell asleep on the bench, decided not to walk around downtown Asheville and get ice cream, but just headed back to the Bakers' house for an early evening.
