Week 3 of Preschool, plus Binkyfree....all is well!

Week two of preschool got gradually better when I picked up Griffin every day. He didn't cry and started to show me things in his room. He took naps all week and even ate well! Drop off in the morning was still terrible by the end of the week, and even one day he started crying in the car on the way to school. But at least I was better prepared last week than the first week.

And we're proud to say that after a few nights of Griffin wailing, "need binky RIGHT NOW," ("right now" being Griffin's favorite words these days), by about the fourth night he went right to sleep and didn't even ask for it. He's perhaps more attached to his Winnie the Pooh blanket than before, but he doesn't even ask for the binky anymore!

Steve got home Friday night after being gone for almost three weeks in New Orleans on the Hurriane Issac recovery team.  We had a great weekend together as a family, and then Monday morning Griffin was excited to bring Steve to see his school! He didn't even cry when we dropped him off, we just slowly backed out of the room and snuck away! The following couple of days weren't quite so easy, he did cry again yesterday and this morning but only for a minute or two.  And he's starting to talk about school a lot and really seems to be connecting with his teachers. So Steve and I are resting a lot easier these days.  The transition might continue to take some time to fully get used to school, but we know we're well on the way!

Griffin and his daddy sharing some frozen yogurt this weekend. Yay for daddy being home!

Just a funny picture of Griffin in his green frog hat that he refused to take off all day on Sunday!
