Griffin's first hash run

First, I'd like to take a moment to whine a bit because now that we're in Thailand, Google and/or Blogger, which are somehow connected, think that we want everything in Thai now. So I try to update the blog but the whole dashboard is written in Thai and I have to keep exiting and trying to go back in until somehow sooner or later it switches to English. Wierd.

I'll also take a moment to report that I've become a die-hard cloth diaper zealot. Anyone with a baby or getting ready to have a baby should ask me about this, and I'll tell you how great they are, especially today's modern designs (check out Best Bottoms at www.nickisdiapers.com), and why you too should switch from disposables! I do it for both environmental reasons, and cost-saving reasons, plus most mothers report that they prevent diaper rash, though we have never had much of a diaper rash problem to begin with. Anyway, we brought our cloth diapers with us to Thailand, because imported things like diapers are pretty expensive. Only the apartment doesn't come with a washing machine, so today we attempted to wash them by hand, and it was a complete disaster- a smelly, ton of work, ton of water mess, and a never-ending process of drying. (though the washing part was not as bad as you may be imagining...we use a dryer sheet type of liner for the real messy stuff, which gets flushed down the toilet). So....we might have to beg a friend to use their machine, or throw our hands up and use disposables. Or, suck it up and keep doing them by hand. Hmmmmm.

Anyway, on to today's blog topic as headlined...Griffin's first run with the Hash House Harriers! This is a fantastic running club, found in most cities worldwide. We went to the Phuket Pooying Hash House Harriers this afternoon. I went on the run while Steve took Griffin for a walk in the stroller- the run was more like a hike through the hills and rubber fields, not a place the stroller can go. He was a great sport even though it was pretty warm. Steve took these great picture at the top of a hill that he went up with Griffin in the stroller- it was pretty rough terrain but Griffin loves the bumps!
