A Royal Wave

On the occasion of the British Royal Wedding today, I thought we'd post pictures and a video of Griffin, who has just learned to wave himself! On Easter Sunday he just started doing it, a bit on cue. When I took him in for his nap and said goodnight to our guests, he waved to them! And when he woke up from his nap and I brought him out to say hello, he waved again. Then later in the pool, he was waving at all the other guests, especially the other kids. And he was so proud of himself that he figured this out. But then again, he doesn't fully get it- later when I was getting him ready to go to sleep for the night and we were swaying a bit to his lullabies, he started randomly waving at the curtains. So...still working on it, but sometimes it works out. Luckily he did get it right on cue this morning when we did a skype video call with my mom...it took him a minute of him curiously watching her waving at him, but then it was like, oh! right! and he started waving back. So cute. These pictures of just of him playing in the pool the afternoon of Easter, using a floaty toy from one of our neighbors. The video clips show "the wave."

Hold on, partner.....you can't just jump out and go for a swim like that!
